Edward Denis Moore passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer on May 17th 2022 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ann Drott and their son, Jeffrey S. Moore, his children, Byran A. Moore (Missy), Ladette Moore Masters (Johnny), Michelle Moore Brooks (Justin), Kevin S. Moore (Jessica), Margo Moore Gaude (Stephen) as well as his grandchildren; Keaton Moore (Amy), Kelsey Gassen, Karlee Masters, Ryan Parker, Mckae, Jace and Miley Moore, Gavin and Gabby Gaude.
He is also survived by his step children, William M. King III, Jason King, Rebecca King, Stacey King, and Lisa King. He leaves behind his step grandchildren, Briana York, Oliver Vorbeck, Mazzy Vorbeck, Maddox Hartley, Noah Jarrell, Meadow Jarrell, Chase Jarrell, Easton Jarrell, Ada King, Evelyn King, Chris Cobb, Reece Cobb, Presley Cobb and Jude Russell. As well as his great grandchildren, Rhett and Levi Moore, his mother-in-law Jennie Drott, sister-in-law Denise Gilhaus (Robert Gilhaus) and former stepson Josh Gilhaus. He also leaves behind his brother, George E. Moore, Jr., his sister, Darnell Moore Ellingsworth (Jimmy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Denis is preceded in death by his father, George "Earl" Moore, Sr. and mother, Margaret Bonvillian Moore, his sisters, Jacqueline Moore Patterson (Maurice) and Bettie Ann Moore,
and his brother, Charles “J." Moore (Amy).
Edward worked in construction and one of his proudest accomplishments was working with prestressed concreate helping to build the Causeway Bridge. He enjoyed collecting clowns and visiting beaches. Edward was a generous person who would give you the shirt off his back.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church in Covington at 12:00pm Thursday June 2nd 2022. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
