Eduardo A.J. Guevara passed away on April 1, 2017.  Proceeded in death by his parents Elvira Mourthe and Ulises Guevara.  Also, his son Eduardo Simon Guevara.  He was a Veteran of World War II, served in the United States Navy on the USS Duncan.  Mr. Guevara was the owner and founder of Concrete Controls, INC, a leading independent manufacturer of concrete admixtures since 1947.  He was based in New Orleans, LA and in 2007 moved his company to Albany, LA.  He worked until he was 90 years old and loved every minute.  He survived by his wife Cynthia Lofaso and daughter, Andrea Monica Guevara, five grandchildren: Ian, Caitlin, & Sophia Guevara and Ava Grace & Samantha Morton.  Also, many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. Eduardo was educated at: Berea College, Berea, K.Y.; National Technological Institute, Washington, D.C.-P.E.; Universidad De Madrid, Madrid- Communication; University of ST. Thomas “Management of Objective”; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA; University of Maryland, School of Engineering. He belonged to many Professional Societies including: American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM)- President “Ex-Oficio”; New Orleans Society of Civil Engineers-President “Ex-Ofcio”; American Concrete Institute (ACI)-New Orleans Chapter- President “Ex-Oficio”; American Society of Civil Engineers; ASTM C-9 Commission; U.S. Academy of Sciences. He also belonged at the Sociedad Espanola and was a Master Mason, Cervantes Lodge # 5.  A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at noon in St. Benedicts Catholic Church.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donaton to Lunch Ministry, 20370 Smith Road, Covington, Louisiana70435.
