Donald Joseph Conrad

Donald, Joseph Conrad, 67, Abita Springs Louisiana passed away on November 27, 2023.

Donald was born on August 30, 1956 to George H Sr and Hermina K Conrad in New Orleans, Louisiana. After Donald graduated from Abramson High School in 1976, he joined the New Orleans Fire Department- Engine House 37 where he served as a first responder for six years until he was injured responding to all.

In 1978, he met the love of his life, Carmen C Conrad, while living in New Orleans East. Donald and Carmen were married for 43 years and went on to have three children Donald J Conrad Jr (his wife, Gina), Kelly C Flanagan, (her husband, Kelly P), and Michelle C Gilardi (her husband, Jason).

Retiring early in life, Donald Conrad, was a true Louisianian who enjoyed life on the water and fishing and crabbing were staples growing up. He was an avid sports fan, always ready to cheer for the LSU Tigers, no matter the sport, and watched Saints football on Sundays.

Donald had many hobbies, but his true passion in life was his family.  Though predeceased by his mother, father and older brother George Conrad Jr, he is survived by his sister, Kathy Nunez, his three before mentioned children and their spouses and their children, Sierra Marcev, (her husband, Darren), Seth and Natalie Spears, Ethan and Brady Flanagan, Jason Jr and Amelia Gilardi, and Travis, Easton, Layla, and Aleena Conrad.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435 with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow in the Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
