Deitra Freeman

Deitra Offner Freeman passed away at home on Sunday  September 25, 2016 at age 70. She is preceded in death by her Mother: Beverly Lafitte Offner, Father: Elvis Offner, and Brother: Don Offner . Beloved wife of Drayton Freeman.  She was the sister of Cheryl Offner Hammond, and Craig Offner.   Mother of Erin  Freeman Seeger, and stepmother to Debi Freeman Smith and Daniel Freeman, and grandmother of Jessica Freeman Keys, Isabel Smith , and Amelia Smith. She was aunt of Brian and Michael Hammond, Donnie Offner , Joel Offner Abney and Kelly Guinn.  Deitra was a retired schoolteacher who taught at Arabi Park Middle School in Chalmette, Louisiana. She moved to Mandeville, Louisiana in 1996 and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was an active member of Northlake Newcomers Club and Garden Club. She enjoyed camping with her family, gardening, and bird watching. She and her family enjoyed bi-annual family retreats throughout the south which offered many wonderful memories for all who attended. She has three beautiful granddaughters who love their "Maw Maw" very much and will miss her. She will also be greatly missed by family and all who knew her.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Rd., Covington, LA 70435. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.  INTERMENT WILL BE PRIVATE at St. Timothy Northshore United Methodist Church Memorial Garden
