Debbie gave her heart to Jesus many years ago. She was a committed Apostolic Pentecostal and cherished member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Union, South Carolina. As a long-time Sunday school teacher, she adored sharing the love of Christ with the children she taught. She also enjoyed fostering fellowship by organizing and planning church events.
As a graduate of Walker High School, Class of 1970, she remained life-long friends with many of her classmates. Debbie was a loving homemaker who dedicated 26 years to homeschooling her four children. She was not only a devoted mother, but also a gifted quilter and seamstress whose award-winning creations, including purses, wall hangings and quilts were admired by all who saw them. She found joy in attending quilt shows and was an active member of the Landrum and Spartanburg, South Carolina Quilters Guild, as well as the Madisonville, Kentucky Quilters Guild. Debbie and Dale enjoyed many adventures together exploring 47 US states, Canada and Mexico via car, RV, and even their own private plane.
Debbie’s legacy is not only in the tangible creations she left behind, but lives on in the countless memories she created with her loved ones. Debbie extended love and kindness to everyone she knew. She was always ready with a listening ear, a comforting presence, and a guiding wisdom often tinged with a mischievous sense of humor. Her sweet smile, joyous spirit, and generous heart touched the lives of many, leaving an enduring mark of love and compassion. Her legacy of love, creativity and dedication will continue to inspire those who were blessed to have known her.
