David William Larsen passed away at Lakeview Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the age of 64. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans growing up in the Bywater. David is survived by his loving wife Beryl Blanchard, stepdaughter Stefanie Gernhauser, step-granddaughters Paiten and Saige Gernhauser, son Sean Menne and grandchildren Madison and Sean, Jr.
David is also survived by his two sisters, Cathy McCardle (Tommy), Jill Larsen (Richard Scott), niece Lisa Davis (Scott), nephew Christopher Schenker (Lauryn), great nephew Mason Davis (Carley), great niece Brice Davis Mondello (Frank), great nephew Christian Schenker, great niece Brooklyn Schenker, great niece Ella grace Davis and Mazie Rae Mondello.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Miriam Larsen, brother Michael Larsen, brother-in-law Thomas McCardle and nephew Thomas McCardle, Jr.
David started working for his father at 16 years old at Larsen Motor Lines, after his death he started his own business with Beryl, Larsen Intermodal Services established in 1992. He was an extremely generous man holding the highest integrity in business and family life. He loved working with his numerous businesses, living on the water, large gatherings of friends and family, fishing, LSU and Saints.
He will be missed and always remembered by his family, many friends, employees, business associates, and community of Venetian Isles and Lake Catherine.
