Craig Everard Mahler

Craig Everard Mahler entered into eternal rest Friday, August 2, 2024.

Craig was born in New Orleans, La in a neighborhood known as “Gentilly” on August 3, 1955 to the late Inez Breaux Morrison Mahler and John Michel Mahler. Craig is a long-time resident of Mandeville, La and is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Brenda Morton. Craig is the loving father of Courtney Mahler and stepfather of Richard “Kendall” Morton, Katie Olavarrieta and Ryan Olavarrieta. He leaves behind his loving siblings and their spouses John (Lynn) Morrison Jr.; Michele Kael (Rudy), Kathy Fos (Louie); Bruce Mahler (Tina); Barbara McArthur (Danny), David Mahler, Kenneth Mahler (Sonja), Chris Mahler (Cathy) and Sister-in-law, Carol Morton Naquin (Clarence). Craig is predeceased in death by his sister Patricia Mahler Price. Craig is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Craig worked at Bayou Steel in Laplace until its closure, and was the co-owner of Arbor View Innovations. Craig was a carpenter, concert/music lover, author, poet, and volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 611, the Republican Professional Women’s group, and the PIA of Louisiana. He was recently asked to do a book signing for his book: M’elange, Eclectic Renderings of an Enigmatic Consciousness. He was a 1974 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, and also attended the University of New Orleans.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1895 US-190, Mandeville, La 70448, on Thursday, August 15, 2024, visitation begins at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service, then a Celebration of Life with family and friends. Internment at Lake Lawn Cemetery.
