Connie Diane Dutruch Williams, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 70. Her life was a testament to strength and resilience over adversity as well as an unwavering love for her family and friends.
Born on July 12, 1954, to Belva Jenkins Dutruch and Maurice Alphonse Dutruch, Connie grew up the youngest of six (A.W., Delores, Joan, Janet and Hollis) just north of Covington, Louisiana. As the youngest, she was beloved by her siblings as well as carrying the values of hard work and perseverance instilled by her parents throughout her life.
Preceded in death by her parents and siblings Delores, Joan, and A.W., Connie honored their legacies by living a life filled with kindness and dedication to those she loved.
On May 10, 1972, Connie married the love of her life, Dennis Oneal Williams. Together they built a beautiful, tight-knit partnership that spanned over 52 years. Their enduring bond and affection for one another was a source of inspiration to all who knew them. Dennis was not only her husband but her steadfast companion through every challenge life presented them.
Connie was an amazing seamstress throughout her entire life and worked for 20+ years for Uniforms By Bayou, where she oversaw the monogramming department.
Connie’s journey through this life was one marked by incredible courage. Diagnosed with cancer in 2004, she faced her battle with grace and determination. Despite the aftermath of radiation treatments and the numerous health challenges that followed, Connie never wavered in her resolve to embrace life fully. Her strength was a beacon of hope to all those around her.
One of her greatest sources of pride and joy was her family.
Connie was wholeheartedly devoted to her only son, Shannon Oneal Williams (50), who carries forward her legacy of resiliency, strength in the face of adversity, and compassion. She cherished every moment spent in the company of her dear friends Fran Mattle-Loyd, Karen Willett, and Angie Scott, as well as her love of her numerous nieces and nephews. In the Lee Road community, she was someone everyone knew and she always had a grin and hello for all those who knew her.
Connie’s memory will be celebrated at a memorial service on Friday, March 14th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bagnell’s Funeral Home in Covington, Louisiana. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in honoring a life well-lived.
Though she is no longer with us, Connie’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering faith in the power of family and friendship.
