Christopher Houk

Christopher Allen Houk, 53, passed away on December 23, 2016, at home in New Orleans.  He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 21, 1963, the son of the late Jane Peacock Williams and Jay Aubrey Houk. He grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. After spending many years in the Oak Island, NC area, he returned to New Orleans, the city he loved. He will always be remembered for his passion for golf and his charismatic personality. Chris is survived by his beautiful daughter, Kylah Houk, as well as his sister, Kelly Houk Balser, brother in law Doug Balser, niece Ashleigh Edwards, nephew Erik Hebert, and great niece and nephew Brenna and Kade.  He leaves behind multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins, and had an extended group of friends.  Chris had a connection to people of all kinds, and never met a stranger.
Chris' family asks for you to honor his memory by performing a random act of kindness for someone, and please consider a donation in his name to a charity, especially The Bridge House in New Orleans, the American Cancer Society, or the Humane Society.  A private memorial gathering will be held by the family.
