Christopher Anthony Barcelona Sr.

November 14, 1961 — February 20, 2025

Algiers, Louisiana

Christopher “Chris” Barcelona, Sr., passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 63. Born and raised in Marrero, Louisiana, he was a graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School and made his career as an accomplished Marine Draftsman. Long before computer technology, Chris was creating designs for water vessels built throughout the United States. He religiously tracked the weather and consistently tuned into 870 AM radio. If you needed the most up-to-date hurricane forecast or wanted to know about the latest political corruption, Chris was your source. He was an eccentric person who was as detailed with his projects as he was with his ship designs. He will be remembered by his extended family as the creator of the most spectacular firework shows on the coast of Gulf Shores. Chris frequented several East Bank restaurants where he loved to dine and visit with his friends. He is preceded in death by his ever-providing parents, Salvador Joseph Barcelona, Sr. and Melva Rita Danos Barcelona. Chris is survived by his two sons, Christopher Barcelona, Jr. and Elliot Barcelona; his ex-wife, Tina Teddlie Barcelona; his siblings, Kathy (Charles) Richard, Amy (Richard) Hernandez, Laurie (Robert Kennedy) Barcelona, and Salvador (Melissa) Barcelona, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the extraordinary caregivers at Living in Love, LLC, in Algiers, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of his loving parents, donations can be made to Visitation of Our Lady Church, 3500 Ames Boulevard, Marrero, Louisiana, 70072. The private inurnment of ashes will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, Louisiana.
