Charlotte (Renae) Friedley went to her heavenly home on January 12, 2019 at the age of 66. Renae was born in Atlanta, GA on September 29, 1952 to Linda Lou Walden and Robert Earl Friedley. After leaving Georgia in 1969, she lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi and her beloved Louisiana. She received her BA in English Literature from Columbus State University in 2011, her Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Southern University of New Orleans in 2014 and her Master’s in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017. She went on to teach English Literature at Crescent City Christian School, a job that she loved. She was a photographer, writer and graphic designer, curating multiple art shows including the Loving Louisiana exhibit and wrote several books along with publishing/editing the Gulf Coast Arts and Entertainment Review from 1996-2005. Renae is survived by her two sons, Christopher Bernardy (Daria) and Timothy Darcy (Lindsay), her grandchildren Ryland, Gabriella and Matthew and her great grandchildren Tristan, Ella and Madelyn. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 4th from 6:00 pm until 7:45 pm. at New Beginnings Church, 227 N. Jefferson Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Services will also be streamed online at www.nb.church for those who are not able to make it.
