Charlotte Combe

Charlotte Belle Platt Combe on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:30 a.m. passed away at the age 97 years old in her home in Covington, Louisiana.  She was born on April 25, 1920 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Clyde Curtis Platt and Anita Charlotte Lambert Platt.

During WWII she took a drafting course at Tulane University and worked at Higgins Industries.  After the war Charlotte and her husband Al Combe settled in Covington, Louisiana where they raised seven children.  She was a very talented seamstress, selling her first doll dress at the age of 11 years old, she made pillows, slipcovers and drapes to clothing, ball gowns and wedding dresses.  She was an active member of the St. Tammany Parish Art Association for many years.  Charlotte was a kind, loving woman with a beautiful heart and soul.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde C. Platt and Anita Lambert Platt, her husband of 65 years, Alfred Lee Combe, daughter Jill Marie Combe Armand, granddaughter Meredith Lynn Toomey and son-in-law Michael Webb Mulligan. Her sisters Edith Platt Lynch and Janice Platt Dey.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters Robin Jane Combe Broyl (Jack H. Broyl), Cynthia Lynn Combe Toomey (T. Craig Toomey), Julie Ann Combe Mulligan, Meredith Lee Combe Bush (Jeffery A. Bush) and sons Scott MacGregor Combe and Charles Tucker Combe (Nancy Combe) and son-in-law John Rene Armand (Traci Armand) 18 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will have a celebration of her life at a later date
