Charlie Jochum, Sr.

April 25, 1944 — May 16, 2019

Charlie Earl Jochum, Sr. was called home on Thursday May 16, 2019 in Covington, LA.  He was born on April 25th, 1944 in New Orleans, LA. and has been residing in Covington for over 30 years.  After working in the beer & wine industry for many years, Charlie decided to finally retire in 2004.

Charlie had a passion for motorcycles, especially Harleys and he was one of the founders of the Crescent City Corvette Club & Bayou Van Club.

Above all, Charlie was a family man who deeply loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, extended family and friends.

Charlie was a Loving & Caring friend to all with an infectious smile and a warm hug ready to share with everyone as he never met a stranger.

Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Marie Jochum and parents Theresa LoCicero Saltalamachia, Earl Jochum and his step father, Joseph Giacomino ‘Jake’ Saltalamachia, Sr. Sammy John Saltalamachia, Joseph Giacomino ‘Joe’ Saltalamachia, Jr.

Charlie is survived by his Loving Sweetheart Janice Ricotta and cherished children, Debra Ann Jochum Grelle [Kerry], Charlie Earl Jochum, Jr. [Yvonne], Steven Charles Jochum, [Kim], Shelly Ann LaBauve Piti [Edward], Jeremy Wade LaBauve [Wendy], Chas Earl Jochum [Brandi], Charlsea Patricia Dawn Jochum and Dominick Peter Jochum.  In addition, Charlie is survived by many grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  Also, Charlie will be sorely missed by his siblings Anthony Joseph Saltalamachia Sr. [Karen], and Clyde Joseph Saltamachia [Theresa].

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday May 24, 2019 at St. Tammany Oaks Church of Christ, 3700 Highway LA-59, Mandeville, LA. 70471 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers and in Honor of Charlie Earl Jochum, you can make donations to the American Heart Association and/or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
