Charles "Charlie" James Spell, III a life-long resident of Mandeville, Louisiana died peacefully at the age of 77 at his home with his wife of 50 years, Pamela Duckworth Spell by his side.
Born on February 7, 1948 Charlie led a very active life. He enjoyed hunting, his friends, watching LSU games in his man cave, and riding his Harley. Charlie was known as "a good old guy" with a quick wit who loved and enjoyed life!
Charlie graduated from Mandeville High School in 1966. He joined the military (Air Force) after graduation and was an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. He was extremely proud of his service and often talked about his time in the Air Force serving his country with pride.
Charlie was a Licensed Journeyman Plumber and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 in Metairie, Louisiana for 45 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Joycelyn Spell.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Pamela and their two loving children Tony (Kristi) and Marcie Ryan (Mike). He was a proud Grandfather of Ally Spell Malter (Luke), Brenna Spell, Drew Spell, Mason Ryan, Merrick Ryan, Myron Ryan and Marlie Ryan. He was proudly and fondly called Pawpaw.
Charlie additionally is survived by two siblings Ronald Spell (Patsy, died May 25, 2022) and Linda Arthur (Mario).
Charlie will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He will always live in our hearts. We love you, may you rest in peace in Jesus's arms!
Family would like to thank the nurses, aids and Chaplain at Egan Hospice for their professionalism and kindness.
Friends and family are encouranged to attend Funeral Services held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville.
