Charles Francis Orlando

Charles F “Curly” Orlando, born October 14, 1939, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023 at the age of 84.  Curly did not know a stranger.  He had a nickname for everyone and answered to many, CFO, Captain and Sifu to name a few.  He had a superhero ability to connect to people with compassion and kindness. He was always willing to lend a hand, an ear to listen and word of advice if asked.   

Charles and his wife Vicki moved to Folsom after he retired as area manager from Woodmen of the World.   Charles had many loves.   He loved serving his country as a Sea Bee in the Navy for almost 5 years after graduating from Delgado.  He loved his garden, meticulously trimming and cultivating, just so he could share the fruits from his harvest.   He was an excellent cook who was incredibly bad at writing down his recipes.  Although he said it was just a few simple ingredients, he always had a secret one. He loved his Church and he loved his community.  But most of all, he loved his family, especially his loving wife and best friend Vicki.  He was our rock, our cheerleader and protector.

Charles is preceded in death by his mother Anna Maucele Orlando, father Frank C. Orlando, brother John V. Orlando, and his former wife Joan.   He is survived by his wife Vicki Orlando; children Maria O Roach, David Orlando, Jennifer Main, Christina Orlando and Rebecca Tan; sons-in-law Mark Main and Pavo Tan; grandchildren Jordan Brookter, Adam Roach and Nicole Roach; Uncle Vincent P. Orlando; Brother Frank C. Orlando Jr (Gwen Orlando), sister Cynthia Couvillion and his nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on December 27, 2023 @ 2 pm.
