Charles Hargis III

Towboat Captain Charles Joseph Hargis III, age 78 of Algiers, La ended his watch early Thursday morning, May 26, 2016 in Covington, La. Beloved father of two daughters: Sandra Oswald and Rachel Muzik-Oswald (Jeffrey), one son, Captain Charles Joseph Hargis IV (Kara). Survived by beloved grandchildren: Alexa Oswald; Jade and Carly Muzik, Jacob Oswald; Tyler and Bailey Hargis, and his best friend, A.J. Lacava. Graduate of Holy Name of Mary, Algiers, La (Class of 1955 football State Champions). Captain Charlie loved talking about family, Saints & LSU football, fishing and the many stories about life on the Mississippi River where he worked for over 52 years. He had a big heart, big smile and always had funny jokes to tell. He was fun loving and very outgoing. We all know he's riding his Harley in Heaven!
