Charles (Wayne) Cook, 47, resident of Slidell, LA, passed away on January 20, 2016. Wayne was born in Atlanta, son of the late Robert B. Cook and Diane Chapman, step-son of Kenneth Chapman, younger brother of Bobby Cook. He graduated from Redan High School, and spent four years proudly serving in the Army. Wayne then began a career as a custom cabinet builder.
In 1996, Wayne married first wife Regina Shelton, and in 1998 they had his only son, Charles Wayne Cook, Jr (CJ). Wayne was very proud of CJ, graduating this year from Winder-Barrow High School. He was a member of the football team and of the JROTC.
In 2004, Wayne married Linda Mulhall. They met in a bowling alley – she attracted to Wayne because of his fun-loving spirit. Their wedding cake proclaimed their unique and passionate love: “I Love You Dammit.” This phrase was spoken to one another every day. Marrying Linda, Wayne also gained a step-son in Chris Mulhall, now a student a Georgia Perimeter College pursuing a career in the military or the field of criminal justice.
Wayne is also survived by sister-in-law Teri Cook, ex-sister-in-law Sabrina Cook, and four lovely nieces: Ashley, Skyler, Hailee, and Emily. And three dogs and a cat he absolutely adored: Gizmo, Gilbey, Mardi, and Tobi.
Wayne will be remembered as an outgoing, fun-loving family man who lived life to the fullest. He wore his big, sensitive heart on his sleeve and made an impression on all who met him.
