Celeste Catherine Regard St. Paul
August 20th 1962 – March 17th 2021
A lifelong resident of Louisiana, Celeste passed away the evening of March 17th, at the age of 58, in her Covington home.
Celeste is survived by her husband of 28 years Joseph Patrick St. Paul and their three children Julie Ann, Madeleine Elizabeth, and John Patrick, as well as her parents Joseph and Julie Regard and her three brothers Joseph Thaddeus and wife Sharron, Emile Paul and wife Tina and William Lane and wife Jennifer. Also left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews who adored “Aunt Tess “.
We must not forget sweet Jo-Jo, the dog she swore she would never have.
Celeste was born on a warm summer’s day, August 20th 1962 to Joseph T. and Julie Bernard Regard. The only girl of four children, she attended Mount Carmel Academy in New Iberia Louisiana. After high school she attended the University of Kentucky and later graduated from the New Orleans Charity Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. Where she worked in both X-ray and CAT scan departments.
Later, after her children became old enough, she graduated from Northshore Technical College with a degree in nursing while working at a local Mandeville clinic.
On July 6th 1991, Celeste married Joseph St. Paul, in her home town of New Iberia Louisiana. Four years later, the happy couple welcomed their first child, Julie Ann in February of 1995. Two years later they were blessed again, with another daughter Madelaine, and again with a son John in 1998. All three children would become the most important part of her life.
She was a nurse that spent her life taking care of others and she was good at it. If you were having a bad day, she would always listen to what you needed to say. Friends and family recall Tess’s magical healing grits that were credited with more than one miracle of rejuvenation. As a nurse Tess would do everything she could to make sure you received the care you needed. Taking care of everyone else before thinking of herself defined Tess.
Her friends and family were everything to her and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
