Carolyn Rose Paul; A retired RN, was a native of Bogalusa, Louisiana, a longtime resident of Montgomery, AL, retired to Miramar Beach, FL, returning home to Bogalusa to live out the rest of her blessed life with family and lifelong friends. Ms. Paul passed away on Thursday October 19, 2017 at her beloved family home in Paul’s Pasture, Bogalusa, LA. She was 78, a graduate of Troy University, BSN graduate from the University of Alabama Birmingham, and attended Louisiana State University undergraduate, a critical care nurse and house supervisor at Jackson Hospital, Montgomery, AL and Crestview, FL. for over 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Loyd and Bessie Adams Paul, Sister Janella Paul Fleming, and Brothers Gary and Roger Paul and former husband Col. Joseph D. Duckworth. She is survived by her two sons, Captain Jeffrey Scott Duckworth San Diego, CA and Blake Loyd Duckworth retired Temple GA, her granddaughters, Lindsey Brooke Duckworth, Lauren Elisabeth Duckworth Compton, Chandler Gray Duckworth. She is also survived by one great grandson Mason Miller and two great granddaughters Lilyanna Rose Miller and Chesney Kate Compton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 25th at 1:00 PM At the First Baptist Church, 541 Ave F, Bogalusa, LA. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple and gold as Carolyn was an avid LSU supporter. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memorial to Carolyn Paul to First Baptist Church Adult Choir, First Baptist Church 541 Ave F Bogalusa, LA 70427.
