It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Rife, who left us on September 2, 2023, having been born on July 17, 1954. A vibrant soul whose presence filled any room, Carol's loss has left her loved ones with a void.
Carol leaves behind her beloved partner, Daniel King, her daughters, Tereasa Brady and Alicia Mclean, along with her grandchildren, Waren Pelz, Kristina Handley, Shawna Mahaffey, Christopher Handley, Kameron Mclean, James Brady, Dalhia Pelz, and Chandler Handley. She also leaves behind her son-in-law Shawn Brady, her brother-in-law Jimmy Ray Handley, and her siblings Theresa Easterling Brown, Ronald Johnson, and James Tracy.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Carroll, her father Truly Fortenberry, and her grandson William Brady. In death, as in life, she is loved and will be greatly missed.
Throughout her life, Carol shared many beautiful moments with her family and friends. She sought happiness in the simple pleasures that life had to offer. She had an affinity for all colors, reflecting her vibrant personality; she was a fan of every genre of music, from The Temptations to The Go Go's and particularly enjoyed the song 'Believe' by Brooks & Dunn.
Carol had an eclectic taste in food and enjoyed indulging in spaghetti, pizza, and chocolate candy bars. Her beverage of choice was either Coke or Pepsi. She held a fondness for a range of movies including 'The Temptations 2012' and 'Red and Red 2'. She found solace in the teachings of the Bible, which was her favorite book.
Playing slots and Farm bubbles were her go-to games, and she found immense joy in repeating viewings of her favorite movies. Carol relished her time spent by the Colorado River, which was her favorite vacation spot.
Carol always encouraged others to love and be kind. She believed in the simplicity of these values and their ability to create a better world. These are the lessons she shared with us and this is how we will remember her.
