Carla Claudine Crites

Carla Claudine Crites, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on November 19, 2023, at the age of 60. She was born to Emma Mae and John L Moody in Cleveland, Mississippi on January 28, 1963. 

Carla is the cherished mother of Stephen Crites and Jessica Penny. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith and Dylan Slocum, her sisters, Phyllis Villescaz and Paula Wand, her life-long best friend, Connie Maxwell, and many other family members and friends whom she loved dearly. Carla was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband and friend, Terry Crites, her sister, Linda Donovan, and her stepmother, Peggy Moody.

Carla enjoyed listening to music, fishing, gardening, crafting, and digging her toes into a sandy beach. She was known for being our biggest supporter and cared for others deeply and selflessly, even through her own personal struggles. She will be greatly missed and her spirit lives on in all the hearts of those she touched. 

In accordance with Carla's wishes, there will be no services at this time.  Instead, we will have a Celebration of Carla's Life in Spring 2024, with event details to be announced at a later date.
