Brian Douglas Saucier, Jr., a native of Slidell, La., and resident of New Orleans entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the young age of 36 years.  Brian was born with beautiful green eyes and was so very handsome.  He was blessed with a beautiful smile, intelligence, a loving heart and a family that loves him unconditionally. To know him was to love him.  We will miss him each day of our lives, but know we will all be reunited.  Brian, Jr. proudly served in the United States Navy from December 28, 2001 through September 9, 2003, during which time he defended our country in Operation Freedom, Afghanistan, aboard the USS John F Kennedy (CV-67).  Brian Jr. was born to Joan Bascle Saucier and Brian Douglas Saucier, Sr. Beloved brother of Brandon Louis Mattingly and Brittany Marie Saucier.  He was the proud uncle to Mya Parker, Justus Wilson, Madison Mattingly and Mason Mattingly.  Loving nephew of Gary Saucier (Connie), Melody Saucier Hutton (Tommy), Donald Bascle, Jr., Gary Bascle, Mark Bascle, Sr. (Kellie), Susan Mattingly Baham, Jimmie Mattingly (Karen), Patti Mattingly Duffey (Dan), and Kathleen Mattingly Burgdahl (Russell).  Proceeded in death by his grandparents Donald Bascle, Sr., Lois Bradley Bascle, Stanley J. Saucier and Shirley Ybos Brown.  Also survived by a host of cousins and friends.  If you knew Brian, then you would have known that the loves of his life were: Family, Fishing, Sunrises, and the New Orleans Saints.  A private family viewing with Brian’s closest, invited personal friends will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 365 Westchester Place, Slidell 70458, followed by a Mass for family and invited friends at 12 noon.  Following Mass, a military graveside ceremony will be held at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Gratham College Road, Slidell 70460. Bagnell & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
