Brandy Melerine

Brandy Ann Melerine, age 46, gained her wings on Sunday, October 9, 2022 for reasons our
hearts can’t comprehend. She was the devoted mother of Bren Anais Guerra (Logan), beloved
daughter of Wayne Melerine Sr., and loving sister of Wayne (Shaggy) Melerine Jr.,
granddaughter of Violet Melerine and the late Milton Melerine.
Brandy was born in 1976 and grew up in Hopedale, Louisiana, surrounded by her large family of
aunts, uncles, plenty of cousins and friends.
Brandy was influenced by family to be a loving, caring woman, always giving her time to help
others, and she incorporated all those virtues into motherhood.
As a mother she was generous, loving, supportive and kind. Her daughter, Bren, was her pride
and joy and the center of her entire universe. Brandy couldn’t have been prouder of Bren’s
decision to become a nurse, and she took every opportunity to brag on her accomplishments.
Brandy was an active and caring woman who spent most of her life thinking about others and
ways to simply make people laugh. She was the life of many parties and always lit up a room
with her beautiful smile. In her free time, Brandy enjoyed traveling and absolutely loved being
on the water. She spent everyday reading her Bible and shared the word of God with everyone
she came into contact with. She always surrounded herself with friends and family, fun and
laughter, which is where she felt the most comfortable and loved.
Brandy will be greatly missed by her family, friends and most importantly, by her beloved
daughter, Bren.
“We know that we can’t have you here with us, but we’re okay knowing that Paw-Paw and
Uncle Wayne have you back. To a wonderful woman and beautiful mother, you will forever be
missed….until we meet again”.
