Billy J. Carter passed away on August 17, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 4, 1954, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Billy brought joy and warmth to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched.
Billy held dear relationships with his family and friends throughout the years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Donna Carter, his sister Angela Carter, along with his daughters Jamie Jenkins (Josh) and Tracy Kopfinger (Andrew). Billy's proudest accomplishments was being a father to his daughters and a proud grandfather to his six grandchildren Carter and Lainey Jenkins, Koen, Kamryn, Kaden and Knox Kopfinger. He shared a special bond with each of them and their memories together will forever be cherished.
Joining him in everlasting memory are his sister Ima Joyce Carter his father B.J. Carter, his mother Ima-Lene Carter and stepfather Warren Lepine. Their love and support shaped the person Billy became, and he always held his family close to his heart.
Billy was a passionate and skilled carpenter who dedicated his life to his craft. He built numerous structures throughout his career that stand as a testament to his talent and hard work. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to perfection made him highly respected among his peers. Billy's legacy as a carpenter will continue to live on through the structures he helped create.
Beyond his career, Billy cherished his dog Lucy with all his heart. Lucy will forever carry the memories of their shared adventures.
