Bertha Blanche Schroeder Seither passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the age of 87. Bert was a native of New Orleans, LA and resided in Metairie, Folsom, and most recently Mandeville, LA. She is survived by her loving sons, Mickey (Carla) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Stephen (Kim) of Bush, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mark Seither (Liz), Stephen Seither (Ryann), Margaret Seither Lutzke, Michael Seither (Amelia), Kari Gauthier (Nathan) and Preston O’Brien along with great grandchildren Kaia Lutzke, Harlow and Violet Seither (Mark), and Ellie Seither (Michael), and Cameron Gauthier. Bert was much loved by her former daughter-in-law Mary Seither Baker, her nephew and nieces Robert Wheelahan (Genelle), Cyndy Young (Jeff-dec'd), Dr. Sherry Wheelahan and Karen Wheelahan Morales (Leason), and Robert H. Schroeder III (Darlene), Andrew Schroeder (Terri) and Ian Schroeder. Also surviving Bert is her brother Robert H. Schroeder II (Joanne-dec'd) and numerous great nieces and nephews. Bert was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Seither II (BJ), her two sons Bernard J. Seither III (Benny) and Kurt J. Seither, Sr., grandson, Kurt J. Seither Jr., her parents Robert H. Schroeder Sr and his wife, Bertha Cassanova. Bert was a secretary for many years at Jefferson Feed Store. She was a former member of the Bayou Square-A-Rounds, the Red Hots, the Gold Dust Twirlers, and a devoted parishioner and member of the altar society at St. John's Catholic Church in Folsom, LA. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her great nephews, Sean and Jared Young.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral with a Mass of Christian burial that will be held in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, LA on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a tribute donation in Bert’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated at act.alz.org or at their home office located at 225 N. Michigan Ave., FI 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
