Barbara Marshall Guy, daughter of Leo Cramer Marshall and Mildred Roberta Stokley Marshall was born in Wilmington, North Carolina. Beloved wife of Robert Allan Guy, mother of Glenn Allan Guy(Gail), Bonnie Lynne Guy Murray(Norman), Mark Cramer Guy(Paula), Heidi Guy Manders, and Geoffrey Marshall Guy. Loving Grandmother of Jennifer Guy, Lindsay Orr(Grady), Julie Guy, Jana Chaouke(Mohcine), Christopher Guy(Ashley), and Brandon Guy(Monica). Blessed Great-grandmother of Leena Chaouke, Harper and Lawson Orr, and Annalyn Guy.

Surrounded by love, her light classical music, and the spirit of all her friends and family, she passed peacefully at the home of Bonnie and Norm in Covington, Louisiana. She was an amazing woman and we celebrate a life well lived. We will miss her physical presence but are blessed by all her gifts of love and the great memories.

She attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey and later attained a Master's of Library Science. She taught in the Hamilton, Ohio and then the Wilmington, North Carolina school systems where she influenced many young lives. She and Robert Allan Guy performed around the world with Dr. John Findlay Williamson and the Westminster Choir College Chorus after World War II, visiting many countries on a peace tour concluding with a concert of "A Hymn to the World" with   Arturo Toscanini which can still be viewed on U-Tube today. An accomplished contralto, she performed at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts(NYC) several times as well as at Thalian Hall(Wilmington,N.C.) with the Wilmington Choral Society. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wilmington, a member of the "Therapeutics" choral group who sang to cancer patients at New Hanover Hospital, and she and  Allen Guy both enjoyed acting and were in "The Lost Colony" production of America's first colony in Manteo, N.C. on the Outer Banks for several years.

Known to many loved ones and friends as "Mama Guy" we thank her for her many blessings and may she rest in peace......we love you "Mama Guy".
