Avarice McLain

Avarice L. McLain, a retired building contractor, passed away Saturday March 31, 2018 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center at the age of 75.  He was a lifelong resident of Covington, born August 30,1942 to Lindsey A. McLain and Beulah Thigpen McLain.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy Spaw McLain, two daughters, Christy Biggers (Scott) of Covington, Stacy Akins (Ray) of Honolulu, Hawaii, four grandchildren - Lauren Biggers, Andrew Biggers, Sapphira Akins, Mia Akins and one brother, George (Shirley).

He is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews and cousins who were all dearly loved.

He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Dennis and Larry McLain.

Family and friends are invited to attend services on Wednesday April 4 at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington.  Visitation is from 9(10) to 12 with the funeral at 12.

Interment will follow in New Zion Church Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Zion Baptist Church building fund or the Wounded Warrior Project.
