Arthur Francis Stearns Jr.

Arthur Francis Stearns, Jr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded
by family on July 5, 2023, at the age of 74. He was born on April 5,
1949, to Arthur F. Stearns, Sr. and Shirley Champagne Stearns in New
Orleans, LA. Arthur was a 1967 graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High
School and was a devoted husband to the late Marion Beckendorf
Stearns for over 36 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and
his sister, Peggy Stearns.

Arthur is survived by his five children, Shelley (Steve), Scott, Shandra,
Shad (Carrie) and Stephen (Jesika) Stearns. He was a proud
grandfather, known as “Poopsie” to Mason, Aiden, Avery, Scottie,
Caleb, Vivian, Beckett, Raegan and Brady. He leaves behind his siblings
Ralph, Nancy and Dianne Stearns and his loving life partner of 14 years,
Moya B. Thompson as well as many nieces, nephews and other
relatives.

He was the hardest working man in our lives and had a career as a
diesel mechanic and high skilled technician for 47 years. He was proud
of his legacy at Stewart & Stevenson where he retired from in 2016 and
left his footprint along Florida coastline and the Gulf Coast with his
service for marine power for commercial vessels and pleasure craft.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to Our Lady
of Prompt Succor, 2320 Paris Rd, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Wednesday,
July 12, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Visitation at the church begins at 10:00 AM
until service time. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers,
