Anne Blackmon

Anne Ernest Blackmon passed away on June 08, 2021 after a brief illness. She was raised in Greenville Alabama, daughter of Hurd and Beulah Ernest. She is proceeded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother. She was the wife of the late Charles Blackmon. After completion of her studies at Southern Baptist Seminary, New Orleans, LA, she was affiliated with Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans where she worked with student nurses and volunteers. She retired in Mandeville, LA. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church Covington, LA. Where she helped develop several spiritual groups. She impacted the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Her belief in life is reflected in her own words. “I am acutely aware that I am in the final stage of my earth journey and still challenged to grow. But I am more grateful to be among a community of faith, people who know and celebrate that we are not alone but are joined to that ‘Great Mystery’ we call God. And my job? To reach out to those who do not know that. To see them, to listen, to welcome them. I love these words: ‘All are welcome in this place.’ We should engrave that over our doors!” A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on June 20. 2021 at 4 PM
