Anita Louise Jenkins Leonard

Anita Louise Jenkins Leonard entered into rest on February 14, 2023, at the age of 72. Anita was born in Bogalusa, LA. to the late Albert and Dorothy (Rogers) Jenkins. Anita is also preceded in death by her sisters Geneva Jenkins, Shirley Vaughn, Geraldine Hardy, and a brother Philip Jenkins. Anita is survived by her loving husband, Jerry J, Leonard of 56 years, her children; Jerry W. Leonard (Diane), Kathy M. Loyd (Shannon), Kevin R. Leonard (Joanna), her grandchildren; Ryan Leonard (Dominique), Rylee Leonard, Ty Loyd, Ali Loyd, Mason Leonard (Chelsea), Kathan Leonard, and Jaden Leonard. Also survived by her great- grandchildren, Wren, Wilder, and Macie. Her sisters Dottie Galladora, Barbara (Robert) Polezcek, Ruth (Jack) Ussery, brothers-in-law; Howard Hardy, Ronnie Vaughn, and the late Sammy Galladora with many nieces and nephews. Anita retired from Walgreens Corporation after 30 plus years as a regional cosmetic supervisor. After retirement, she loved spending time in her craft room making wreaths and various other projects. She loved cooking and baking for her family. Her absolute favorite holiday was Christmas, watching the joy on her grandchildren’s faces as they opened their presents. Anita entered into rest on Valentine’s Day which was fitting for how much she loved and was loved.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral service at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Hwy 437 (Lee Road) Covington, LA 70435. Funeral services will be held on February 25, 2023 at 12:00 Noon with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Barker McManus Cemetery, Covington, LA.
