Andrew Caleb Punch, beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, and cousin entered into the Lord’s loving and gentle embrace on August 29, 2023 at the age of 24. He was born on June 21, 1999 and was a life-long resident of Nine Mile Point, Louisiana and a graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School. Andrew leaves behind his adoring and devoted parents, Leroy J. Punch, Jr. and Suzanne Barrios Punch, and his loving siblings, Kristen Punch and Evan Punch. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Leroy J. Punch, Sr. and Shirley Cain Punch. He also is survived by his doting maternal grandparents, Raymond Barrios, Sr. and Doris Pitre Barrios; affectionate aunts and uncles, Todd Barrios (Cindy), Lisa Barrios Sampey (Donald), Raymond Barrios, Jr., Rosalind Punch Gardner (Paul), and Layne Punch (Jennifer); and caring cousins, Brock Barrios, Bradley Barrios, T.J. Barrios, Cameron Gardner, Abigail Gardner, Blake Punch, Ethan Punch, and Aidan Punch. Andrew entered this world with his stunningly beautiful blue eyes and immediately captured his parents’ hearts. Before he even entered the first grade, Andrew could point out any vehicle and tell you its make and model. In his childhood, Andrew collected toy cars and would spend hours with his parents playing with those cars. His fascination with cars followed him all of his life. While in his younger school years, Andrew loved playing baseball and was quite a good player. His baseball playing brought much pride to his parents. Andrew found pleasure in swimming, especially with his sister and brother in his great-grandmother’s pool. He had such joy horseplaying and teasing his siblings. His bliss while in that pool warmed your heart. Always trying new dishes, Andrew loved to cook. He could prepare a steak that rivaled that of a chef. Andrew’s family was thrilled when steaks were on the menu. He always looked forward to his favorite time of the year – Christmas. Andrew knew it was the season where his family and friends remembered blessings and celebrated by gathering to embrace each other’s company. Oftentimes, Andrew and his dad watched televised MMA fight events. It became “their thing” and was a special bond for them. Andrew was a kind soul and had an immense soft spot when caring for any stray cat that wandered into the family backyard. Just recently, he developed a fondness for a black cat named Tommy. Andrew’s time on this earth was entirely too short, and he will be sorely missed. Those who knew him recognize what a privilege it was to have known and loved Andrew. He had an enormous heart and leaves behind a legacy of love for all those fortunate to be his family or friend. Although his family and friends have an immeasurable void in their hearts, they are comforted in knowing Andrew is at peace and cradled in the arms of our Lord.
