Andrew Landreneau

August 24, 1943 — January 12, 2024

Metairie, Louisiana

Andrew “Pee Wee” Landreneau entered this world on August 24, 1943, and entered Heaven on January 12, 2024.

Born in New Orleans to Hilton and Marilee Landreneau, he leaves behind his wife of 61 years Joy Schmitz Landreneau; his children Michele Hargrave (Joey), Darren Landreneau (Meredith), and Jeff Landreneau (Michelle); his siblings Cilton “Tony” Landreneau and Johnny Landreneau (Donna); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, their sister Jackie Dubroc and her husband Donald, and his sister-in-law Gaynell Landreneau.

Andrew spent his life working in sales for River Rubber Company, and was a delivery person for the Times Picayune newspaper since he was a teenager and enjoyed doing this until he could not do it any longer. When his children were younger, Andrew also ran a small lawnmower repair business out of his home for several years. Darren and Jeff were always tasked with ‘testing’ the newly repaired mowers! Andrew enjoyed playing an active role in his children’s life, taking them to high school football games, bring them to school dances and activities, dropping them off at the malls, and taking them camping. And he enjoyed listening to country music anytime he could!

Andrew spent as much time as he could with his grandchildren: Crystal, Zachary, Ian, Christopher, Nicholas, Madeline, and great grandson Kevin. From babies to young adults, he would take them all on adventures from going out to McDonald’s, to and from school, doctor appointments, the park, the airport to watch the planes, to hanging out on the living room floor playing games. Never a dull moment with PawPaw/Grandpa!

The family is following Andrew’s final wishes of an immediate cremation, and a family gathering at a later date. His presence in this world is greatly missed.
