Alexis Michelle Salazar Young passed away peacefully with her doting husband at her side, on January 24, 2024. She was born on October 18, 1993, and remained a life-long resident of Louisiana. Lexi was an amazing wife and stepmother. Despite an intense eight-year battle with breast cancer, she was the ultimate optimist. She was always smiling and often dancing, determined to make the most of every moment and always giving her absolute best to everyone. She loved her job at Tri-Parish Works where she was employed for years as a Recruitment Specialist, preparing her clients for the job market; and she was so excited about her new position at Textron with its vast potential. Lexi adored her family and friends and loved to play; she camped, fished, four-wheeled, and played board games, corn-hole, and any game with a child. She spent hours outside with her stepson, exploring and hunting frogs to catch, compare, and release. Lexi was preceded in death by her grandfather, Vernon Salazar. She is survived by her loving husband of eight months, Ryan Young and her stepson, Aden Young. She is also survived by her parents: Greg Salazar and Erin Hammonds Salazar; siblings: Brooke Salazar Hutchinson (Brandon), Raven Salazar O’Neil (Cameron), and Jason Hardison; godchildren: Baylor and Beaux Hutchison; grandparents: Jude Salazar and Ben and Lori Crews; great grandmother: Lorraine Hays; and in-laws: Steve and Serelda Young, Michael Young, Jessica Young (Philip Brunetti), and Apollo Brunetti. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home at 75212 Lee Road in Covington, Louisiana on February 3, 2024 from 9:30 until Noon.
